Fairtrade - Fairtrade
Fairtrade is an independent product label and guarantee you that a product meets international Fairtrade Standards.
The criteria, which are developed by the Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO), based on the fundamental ILO conventions on human rights in the workplace with aims at economic development and increasing environmental concerns.
As Fairtrade growers and workers in the developing world could access to an international market and an opportunity for increasing sales. The criteria make demands on wage levels and set a minimum guaranteed price for the product, being long-term trade relations and agreements between producers and buyers. The criteria also regulate the working conditions of employment of labor, with respect to employee's safety and health.
The criteria can be summarized as follows:
• Growers and staff may have improved economic conditions
• Child labor and non-discrimination
• Democracy and the Right to Organizational promotion
• Local communities develop socially and economically
• Environmental and ecological production promoted
